Adjudicators
Harry Youlton, Jill Bush, Lee Williams, Dianna Wykes a.n.o
Toe tipping
Try to avoid tipping the toes up when dancing a heel turn, this will only create a bad line and could cause the body weight to fall back.
Gentlemen
- invite your lady to dance her steps do not try to do them for her.
The music
Try to use all the musical value of any beat, particularly on slow counts - this will help with better timing and a smoother action.
The diagonal line
Keep the toes pointing on a diagonal line when dancing in promenade postion. If the toes point straight in the direction you are travelling as the body weight passes over the moving foot the hip and shoulder line will turn out from partner and cause a distorted uncomfortable line.
If it feels awkward - it's wrong
If a movement feels wrong or isn't dancing as you would like it to, always look at the previous step.
